Novelty Motorcycle Helmet Review

The Eagle Novelty Helmet from Daytona Helmets

I've owned a lot of novelty helmets over the years, some good and some not-so-good. If you're going to wear a novelty no matter what, then the two most important factors to consider when choosing one are: Comfort and looks. This novelty helmet has both.

I particularly liked the forward positioned y-strap retention location. It has a better fit for my tastes compared to other generic novelty helmets. Other hats sometime have the straps located too far back on the helmet which can cause the helmet to shift back or blow up in the front in the high winds or just plain irritate the ears. The liner fit is quite comfortable on long rides of a few hours or more. Make certain you use the size charts and measure your head for the correct fit or it will not be comfortable.

The helmet also comes with a free black bandanna or head wrap which is great because I like free stuff, right? One other freebie is the cloth storage bag that is included. Not a big deal for me as I actually like my hats to get a little beat up over time… it adds character I think, but if you’re a little fastidious about your head gear you'll love this little extra.

I've seen this helmet retail as high as $60 but you'd be crazy to pay that so shop around. You can find them on EBay for around $30 but then the shipping is ridiculous at $12 or $15 but I'm not an EBay fan anyway… a few bad experiences… The best price I've found is $35 + $8 shipping anywhere in the US was from these guys: LightLids.com. Daytona Helmets - Eagle Dull Black.

I did find a similar pricing from a few other online stores but after a few Googles I found too many complaints about them so I settled on these guys. The helmet showed up on time with no issues.
